How to transfer replays from super smash bros. ultimate to pc

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has a convenient replay feature which lets you save replies from any match you play. This is great for those who want to share clips or who just want to study their game to improve. But how do you do it? Take a virtual seat and let us tell you.

How to save a replay

How to transfer replays from super smash bros. ultimate to pc

Saving a replay in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is incredibly easy. At the end of each match when you reach the summary screen, you’ll be able to press the Y button to save a replay. This function will save the entirety of your match.

  1. Enter the Vault on the main menu.
  2. Go to Replays.
  3. Select Replay Data.

Here, you’ll see a grid of your clips. You can sort by date, mode, or stage, and you can filter it down even further by fighters and by clips of matches where Spirits were equipped. Press A on the video to bring up its control window, and press A again to view it.

The cool thing about this replay system is that you can manipulate the camera to view the action from whichever angle you want. You can pan and tilt, zoom in and out, and even use motion controls to see things just the way you like. At any time, you can take a snapshot of what happened, and if you want to fine-tune things you can choose to view the fight frame by frame.

For fun stuff, there are loads of filters and frames you can apply. About half of the frames available are just different variations and positioning of the Smash logo, but there’s also a film reel effect, wood grain, grunge, canvas, stars, flowers and more. In terms of filters, you can go black and white, make the colors more vivid, or even make your game look like a manga in motion.

Unfortunately, these effects are only available while the replay is paused or you’re scrubbing through frame-by-frame.

How to make a video from a replay

The replay alone might be enough for some people, but those who want to get creative can turn those clips into videos. There’s also one very good reason to save your best replays as videos: replays from older versions of the game are not available once a new update arrives, so it’s important to save the clips you really want to keep.

  1. Enter the Vault on the main menu.
  2. Go to Replays.

Select Replay Data.

Once you have the title, press Convert to Video.

How to transfer replays from super smash bros. ultimate to pc

Select the conversion settings you want. You can toggle the info display, music playback, sound effects, and change the quality of the video. Higher quality videos look better, but the duration is shorter.

How to transfer replays from super smash bros. ultimate to pc

Now you’ll be taken to a playback screen showing your fight. Before the action begins, the replay will remain paused. This gives you the opportunity to set the scene up how you like before recording with the same options we discussed in the previous section. View the upper and right portions of the screen if you need help on the controls for each function.

How to transfer replays from super smash bros. ultimate to pc

Once you have your scene setup, you can press the + Button to begin recording. You’ll know it’s recording by seeing a red progress bar at the bottom. At any time, you can press the A Button to pause the recording. This won’t pause playback, mind you. This is how you can pick and choose which exact moments out of the fight you want to save, unless, of course, you just want to save the whole thing.

How to transfer replays from super smash bros. ultimate to pc

You can pause playback using the + Button in case you want to change the camera angle or special effects. You can also choose to quit early, which involves a bone-crunching combination press of the L, R, A, and + buttons. (Really, Nintendo?)

Where to find your clips you’ve converted

How to transfer replays from super smash bros. ultimate to pc

  1. Enter the Vault on the main menu.
  2. Go to Replays.
  3. Select Video.

How to transfer replays from super smash bros. ultimate to pc

Press A on the video you want to view and A again to play it.

Can you share the clips?

Unfortunately, there’s no built-in way to share video clips or replays. The only way to do so on the Nintendo Switch directly is to record up to 30 seconds of your video using the console’s Share button found on the bottom of the left Joy-Con. Hold the button down for the section you want to share. Once saved, you’ll be able to share the clip directly to Facebook or Twitter.

The only other way to share the clip would be to use external capture equipment, such as an Elgato or an equivalent alternative.

Save your best moments!

Again, we stress that you should convert your best replays into videos as soon as you can because replays are not compatible with versions of the software other than that which it was saved from. Videos should last as long as you want them to, though, so make sure your memories are archived the right way.

Quick save your replays externally before Nintendo spike them down and out of your system!

Nintendo has already teased that the first patch to come to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will be arriving onto Nintendo Switch systems sometime throughout next week.

How to transfer replays from super smash bros. ultimate to pc

The news comes from a notice message sent out to every Nintendo Switch system, the message says that update 1.2.0 would be arriving sometime “next week.” The majority of the contents for the update are unclear, but what we do know is that once the update is downloaded and installed into your systems all in-game replays that were saved to Ultimates game files will be removed.

To save the awesome kills that you have already done, players will have to go to their Vault in Smash UItimate and navigate to the replay data section and re-save the replays into videos to your Nintendo Switch storage. Doing this will save your replays but in turn will take up quite a lot of storage on your Nintendo Switch or microSD card. I would advise players that want to save all of their replays and have quite a few of them to make sure they have enough space on their Nintendo Switch or microSD card before attempting the transfer.

I have noticed on forums and on the Smash subreddit that many players have already been calling for a balance patch to be issued out to the game with the goal of buffing and nerfing select fighters. Personally, I believe that it is much to early in the lifetime of Ultimate to determine what characters are overly strong and what ones are too weak. An example of why I believe this is because even many of the pro-players are still discovering new aspects of the game, and as they find new ways to do things it dynamically makes changes to what is considered strong and weak. Simply put, a fighter balancing patch is certainly not needed, especially as of yet.

WARNING: BEFORE DOING THIS TUTORIAL IT IS BEST TO REMOVE MODS FROM CHR/UI. IT MAY CRASH YOUR GAME IN REPLAYS. ONLY USE THIS FOR UPLOADING REPLAYS, SINCE THIS TAKES LONGER TO LOAD.

Have you ever wanted to upload a skin, a model swap, giga bowser, whatever, but it crashes/freezes every time you do so? Well, the solution is in this tutorial! Heres how:

Instead of using SDCaffiine, you will have to use the normal Caffiine, an older method to load mods. You can find it here:

Once downloaded, extract it wherever you like. Open the folder. You should see this:

Open the server folder. Then open the cafiine_root folder.
In this folder, make a new folder named different depending on where you are:
USA: 00050000-10144F00
EUR: 00050000-10145000
JPN: I couldn’t find it.

Once this folder is created, open the folder. Make a folder called vol. Inside of vol, make a folder called content.

Find your patch folder. It’s in modpacks, your sm4shexplorer export folder, so and so
Copy the patch folder into the content folder in vol.

It should copy normally.
Once it is copied fully:

On your wii u, goto the site loadiine.ovh
Instead of selecting
SDCaffiine + Kernel
select
Caffiine + Kernel
and hit submit.
It should kick you back to the wii u menu. Go back in loadiine.ovh. Now on your gamepad, it should show something similar to SDCaffiine. It will ask you for your IP. Use your D-pad on your gamepad to adjust these numbers to your IP.

To find what your IP is (seems familar to ddd, huh?) all you have to do is hit the windows key and r on your keyboard, and type cmd, and hit enter. Then type in ipconfig and then hit enter.

after hitting enter, search for this:

It should be a different set of numbers for you. On the gamepad, change the numbers to yours.
Then hit A.

On your computer, go back to the server folder. Click on the cafiine_server.exe file.
If it tells you to allow it through a firewall, hit yes and allow everything.

Now launch smash.
Your mods should load but if you have any CSS mods it will be slow, and the loading screens will take a bit. But you can save replays and upload replays just fine now! Please use normal SDCaffiine when you aren’t looking to upload replays.

The 4.0.0 update of Super Smash Bros Ultimate is in the pipeline, the patch should be published tomorrow or July 31 at the latest, but Nintendo of Europe wanted to clarify the lack of compatibility with the “old” replays.

Replays recorded before the 3.1.0 update will not be compatible with the next update in any way and the only way to continue viewing them will be to convert them to video format. To do this, simply go to the replay menu, select the data to be converted and start the process, which varies in length depending on the quantity and length of the clips.

But when will the 4.0.0 Super Smash Bros Ultimate update be released for Nintendo Switch? The company spoke generically of ” a planned launch within seven days “, according to some rumors the patch will be released in late July while others talk about August 4, the same day apparently scheduled for the release of Dragon Quest ‘s DLC Hero.

Just to ‘ Hero of Dragon Quest series is dedicated to the new Nintendo Direct scheduled for July 30 at 15:00, Italian time, led by producer Masahiro Sakurai and focused on the new character roster of Super Smash Bros Ultimate, announced at E3 Los Angeles is highly anticipated by the community and the beat-up Nintendo.

#SmashBrosUltimate replays created in versions before 3.1.0 are not compatible with 4.0.0, which releases within 7 days. If you have replays you want to keep, you'll need to convert them by going to Vault -> Replays -> Replay Data -> Convert to Video before updating the software.

Super Smash Bros Ultimate has been given a brand new update on Nintendo Switch.

According to the full patch notes, update 1.2.0 makes big changes to online and offline gameplay for Super Smash Bros Ultimate.

This includes a much-needed fix for matchmaking issues caused by specific rule searches.

Preferred rules will now be prioritised during Super Smash Bros Ultimate matchmaking.

Nintendo has also altered the difficulty of approaching challengers when playing Smash Bros offline.

The only downside about the new update is that the Nintendo Switch update will wipe your old replays.

Nintendo explains more in an early patch notes post within Super Smash Bros Ultimate.

“Version 1.2.0 will be distributed within the next week,” the post reads. “Once you update the software, you won’t be able to watch replays made with previous versions.”

Fortunately, there is a workaround if you want to keep your old replays after the new update goes live.

“If you have any replays you want to keep, go to Vault > Replays > Replay Data > Convert to Video,” Nintendo explains.

¿Cómo acceder a Super Smash Bros Ultimate Replays?
