GIVE YOUR FACE. Skip the expensive spa and have a steam treatment at home! And nope, I’m not talking about one of those “facials” where you hold a soggy warm washcloth over your face. Get ready to say hello to your new favorite budget beauty tool – the Conair Facial Sauna System. I had a blast trying it out!
All you have to do is fill the vessel with water and within two minutes you’ll have yourself a high-quality steam facial that gently unclogs pores and leaves skin feeling hydrated and soft! There’s even a handy timer so you can customize the length of your facial and an electric brush with two different attachments that you can use for applying your exfoliator and moisturizer. Do you want to know the price of all this? Solo $ 24. Yep, it’s true!
TRY ALL DRESSED MASKS. So I’ve been a BIG mask kick lately, even more so than usual. I think it’s this winter weather. My normal skincare routine just hasn’t been cutting it and my face is just crazyyyy dry and flaky. One of my favorite ways to add some extra love to my skin is with a tissue mask.
I bought this 11 sheet mask set for just $ 17 and tested each one. I also love that once you’ve used a sheet mask you can just toss it in the trash and not have to deal with wiping any residue or goop off your face.
Pamper your mouth. I don’t know any guys, but I always forget my mouth. Lately I feel like every time I put on my lip balm it’s to no avail. My lips are stillcrunchy and chapped, even if I seem to hydrate them more than 500 times a day.
Needless to say, my pout could use some TLC, so I’ve come up with a quick and easy routine for winter July. Twice a week after steaming my face I exfoliate my lips with this Burt’s Bees conditioning lip scrub. I simply apply it with my fingers and gently scrub the flaky pieces. I’ve tried a bunch of lip scrubs over the years, but I LOVE this one because it’s 100% natural and the crystals aren’t too chunky. After exfoliating I’ll smother my lips with this Aquaphor lip treatment.
On days when I reallyyyyy wanna take my lip routine up a notch, I’ll use a lip mask. YES there are mouth masks! Who knew right? I was skeptical the first time I saw these collagen lip masks, but my curiosity beat me, so I went ahead and ordered a two-pack. Y’all these are so cool! It’s basically like a sheet mask for the lips. All you have to do is put it in your mouth, let it soak for 10-15 minutes and peel it for a smooth, hydrated spout!
BATH BOMBS. I forgot how beautiful it is! On a cold night, what’s better than a long warm soak in the tub? When I’ve had a really long day I love to unwind by taking a bath. These pink bath mousses smell GREAT and are enriched with Vitamin E to moisturize the skin. You can get an 8-piece bag for just $ 7!
SKIN CARE ADDITIVES BY DRUGS.You know I’m a huge fan of Olay moisturizers (I’m obsessed with them!), But I recently got out of my comfort zone and used this moisturizing mist and a clay stick.
Let’s talk about the mist first. This is a life saver for parched skin, especially on days when I’m wearing makeup! A spritz of this mist instantly wakes up the face (thanks to vitamin C & bergamot!) leaving skin looking bright and makeup looking refreshed. It’s a really nice pick-me-up to keep in your purse or carry-on bag too!
If sheet masks aren’t your thing, then you’re going to love this Olay clay stick mask. It’s super easy to apply and you don’t even need to use your fingers! I bought the Fresh Reset mask, which is formulated with pink mineral complex & Kaolin clay to micro-polish away clogging surface cells and fresh dull skin. PS there’s a charcoal version of this mask too!
The last product I want to bring you back is the CeraVe eye contour cream. I grew up using CeraVe moisturizers and body lotions, but this is the first time I’ve ever tried anything exclusively for the eye area. Let me tell you: I LOVE these things! This cream is super moisturizing and reduces dark circles and bags. The best part is it’s just $10!
It was fun! I haven’t indulged in a pamper sesh like this in a longgggg time, but now I’m thinking I might have to make it a regular weekend ritual. 😛.
A big thank you to Walmart for sponsoring this post!

Now, I know what you’re thinking. It would be so much nicer to go to the spa, check out for a few hours, and let someone else cater to your every whim! Sounds divine! But if you’re like me, (and I praise you if you’re not) checking out for a few hours of me time sends my mommy guilt skyrocketing. There’s nothing relaxing about being at a spa, meanwhile you’re having mommy guilt the entire time you’re being massaged. I know, I know it’s silly! As moms we really do need to take time for ourselves and know that it’s OK–I work on that philosophy daily. When you can take some time out of your busy day to focus on yourself, it can be a truly energizing experience and the whole family will benefit from it.
For some of us who just can’t get away to a spa because it’s too expensive or you just don’t have the time or help, bring the spa home to you. One time ogni 10 giorni circa faccio una bella “doccia termale” prolungata. Not the usual “how soon can I take this shower” but a nice long hot shower. I bring out my favorite pampering products that can be used both in and out of the shower.
Here is my listpamper yourself in an unmissable home:
As moms, we really need to take some time for ourselves and know that everything is fine.
Ellis Brooklyn Candle: I keep this candle in our bathroom. Before throwing myself in the shower, I turn it on, and the smell in the air really transports me to my Zen world, without my mother’s guilt.
Spa Bath Glove Body Scrub: I LOVE these gloves. I’ve been using them for years. Add the body cleansing gel to the glove and scrub. It’s invigorating and you just feel clean. Here’s another Advice–buy two, one for each hand.
Body Scrub: This body scrub is heaven on Main Street. Remember my friend Taylor who brought us the Kale Brownies? Well, she has this AMAZING new skin care line and I’ve been benefiting from it greatly. I’m lucky! Between the salt and sugar that exfoliates and the oils (including coconut oil) that makes your skin so silky smooth, the natural fragrance alone makes you feel like you’re in a fabulous spa.
Pumice stone: Walk a mile in my shoes … and my feet are dry! These winter months have certainly put a strain on my feet. Take care of them. A good scrub is never a bad choice.
Sugar Lip Polish: When was the last time you exfoliated your lips? Exactly. Give it a go! It’s all about pampering yourself and doing something that you normally wouldn’t do on any given day.
Coconut Oil: After showering and before drying it with a towel, I apply this product all over my wet body. I’m a HUGE coconut oil lover as everyone has gotten to know by now. Once you wipe it off with your towel, it’s already soaked in nicely and you feel and smell lovely.
Triple Oxygen Facial Mask : Once I’m out of the shower I throw this mask on my face. This is my quick fix for the 5 minute mask. The foamy mask slowly disintegrates after 5 minutes. Wash your face and you’ll look and feel so refreshed and your skin will look completely revived.
Face Oil Calm & Clear : It’s like a spa in a bottle. Just inhaling pure rose eight, frankincense, Indonesian sandalwood, two types of chamomile and a healthy dose of lavender encourages a feeling of peace and tranquility. Everything you’ll need to get back out there to your spectacular mamahood world feeling invigorated. It’ll have your skin feeling hydrated but not too oily.
You deserve to treat yourself to some pampering—even if it’s at home. Do you have any time routines or rituals for me?
You really need it now.
Let’s be honest: I didn’t go to any spas before the pandemic. I don’t think I’ve had a massage or facial since my marriage three years ago. But as a big believer in self-care, I understand how important it is to take time with “me”, and one way to do that is through spa treatments.
Only problem? Le terme della mia zona non sono still aperte e, anche se lo fossero, non avrei speso i miei soldi per pagare l’intera giornata all’una. If you find yourself in the same situation, it is time for us to think about how to make a home spa so that we can pamper ourselves without paying for it. From how to create a spa vibe to DIY treatments, read on to learn how to make a spa day at home.
What do you need for a spa day at home?
Regardless of the spa treatments you choose to treat, the first step to recreating a spa at home is setting it up
- First on the list? Create an atmosphere. Now’s the time to round up all those fancy luxury candles that you refuse to burn and light ‘em up for some mood lighting and that signature spa scent (you know the one). If you only have unscented votive candles, get your essential oil diffuser too and make it work.
- Then prepare some thermal water. Nothing says “I paid for this massage” like a glass of fruit water without ice. But even if your at-home massage is free .99, you can still recreate that experience. Lemons, Cucumbers, and Mint: Each has at least one random slice of product lying around, so slice it up and pour it into a glass.
- Turn on the music.Whether you’re trying to muffle the sound of your roommate on the other side of the wall or just hate the sound of silence, add soothing background music to Spotify.
- Take a bathrobe and slippers. You wouldn’t go to a reggae spa, so why should you be in your house? Only after putting on the most comfortable bathrobe and wearing the house shoes, you can proceed to the following home spa treatments.
We live in the age of the moment. We expect answers now and immediate results. This can cause an incredible amount of stress. Whether you’re at home with the kids or at work with dating, life can be overwhelming at times. And women aren’t the only ones dealing with stress; men can experience the same or more. For our beloved husbands, brothers, dads, and male friends, it’s time to prioritize some self-care for men.
Men deserve the same time at the spa
When the women are overwhelmed, they pick up their girls and head to the spa. The men, on the other hand, seem to grab a beer and watch the game. Of course, while it may be relaxing, that’s not the same as getting a massage, facial, or pedicure.
It’s time for men to get the pampering and self-care they deserve with no stigma or judgment. Taking care of yourself is absolutely masculine and sexy. And it doesn’t mean you’re conceited or self-centered. For goodness’ sake, don’t even think about calling yourself metrosexual or some other derogatory term. Men who take care of themselves should be supported. (Plus, women love it.)
How do you find time for yourself?
Well, there’s the rub. Sure, in theory it’s great to champion self-care for men, but in reality, who has the time? Even in the 21st century, most men are breadwinners. It’s only biological that men are programmed to provide and protect, and they do this by working to create financial security.
Fortunately for their families, most men carry the weight without complaining. After all, if it’s not considered masculine to take time to pamper yourself. But working late turns into poor eating habits and poor quality sleep. At home, fathers are expected to take control and care for their children, which can be stressful in their own way when they play.
Unfortunately, most men don’t have a way to let off that steam other than maybe at the gym or on the golf course. Wouldn’t a little self-care provide a great solution?
Start with small steps
There’s no need to rush off to a day spa. Unless you want to. Self-care for men can start with small steps. Take a walk during your lunch break. Skip the car ride for lunch and indulge in a seat salad. Turn off your phone and computer for an hour in the evening and pay 100% attention to something you love. Read the newspaper all the time.
If you’re ready to step it up a notch, perhaps a cut and shave at a local barber are in order. That’s a small bit of pampering that will make you feel great. Or arrange a one-hour massage. You can definitely run away that long to get attention.

If, like many of us, you’re feeling a bit overwhelmed with all that’s going on right now, you could probably use a day at the spa. After forgoing many of our normal luxuries for months, let’s face it – we’re all ready for a little pampering.
But, if a trip to the spa isn’t in the cards right now, don’t let that stop you from getting the self-care you deserve. With a little planning and preparation, you can spend a beautiful and luxurious day in the indoor spa. Get ready for a little quality “me time” with these six advice for a perfect day of relaxation while staying in.
Comfort is the key
The number one goal in a spa is to make guests feel as comfortable and relaxed as possible. So don’t neglect this critical step when planning your at-home spa day. Start by wrapping yourself up in a super soft or silky bathrobe and wearing plush slippers. So prepare your softest towels after treatments. And don’t forget to turn up the thermostat a little, so you’re warm and welcoming all day. You should never cool off in a spa!
Almost every spa you visit has a rigid onethere is no rule for cell phones. Make your day as relaxing as possible by turning off your phone or at least silencing notifications. This day is all about you, so you won’t need to know what’s going on in the outside world.
Create the mood
What does the spa have that you probably don’t get very often at home? Perfect relaxing atmosphere. To recreate the atmosphere, indulge your senses with a collection of spa items.
Odor it has the power to calm us down and trigger positive memories. Try lighting a candle or using a diffuser with your favorite calming scent to help you relax. You can also use a few drops of your favorite massage oil on the pressure points for a relaxing scent.
Lighting and music they also play a vital role in creating a relaxing environment. Dim the lights or light the candles for a soft, warm glow to help you relax. It then drowns out external sounds like traffic or lawn equipment with white noises or soft music. Choose the soothing sounds of nature such as soft rain or ocean waves for a relaxing, distraction-free atmosphere.
Enter the area
To get the most out of your day at the spa, you need to think about more than just your face and a hot bath. Make the most of your “personal day” by setting up zones different areas of the house for different treatments.
For example, you can create a mud area in the bathroom and a massage area in the bedroom. If you have some space outside, create an outside space for breaks. Pack a blanket and pillows and some of your favorite snacks to keep you fed throughout the day.
Personalize your day
Take the time to tailor your perfect day – you’re the only one after allmake a schedule. If you’re an early bird, start with a sunrise meditation session. But if you’re a night owl, go ahead and sleep in and plan for a candlelit soak at the end of the day. Or maybe you’re not a bath fan. So, skip the long soak in favor of your face as you read in your favorite area.
Start at the bottom
To undergo a full body treatment, start at the bottom and work your way up. Your feet carry a lot of weight every day and deserve some relaxation too. Try soaking them in warm water and Epsom salt to relieve these pains. Then use your favorite oil or skincare treatment to replenish your dry skin.
Then pamper the entire outer layer with scented scrubs and moisturizers. Once that’s done, treat your face with a mask, depending on your skin type and seasonal needs. Finally, add some love to your locks. Choose a hair mask, oil or cream and brush the strands to quickly regenerate your hair.
After all that’s happened this year, we could all benefit from a calm, soothing environment and a little self-care that makes us feel good from head to toe. Use these advice to treat yourself to the perfect spa day at home.
